What you need to know…
Tablet PC’s are quickly changing the way that people view personal computers as the smaller versions of the laptop are quickly catching on for travel purposes as well as for daily companions. Despite the progress of smartphones, there are still some tasks that offer limited functionality on small screens, but a full sized laptop is not always practical for daily use while on the go. It is this gap in the middle that the tablet PC fills quite nicely and judging by the take up of iPads and Android Tablets the demand for a middle of the road device is quite large.
It is important to note however that while the size of the average tablet may be middle of the road when compared to its electronic siblings; there is little that is average about the functionality of these devices- especially when it comes to those who use the Apple or Android operating systems.
The Apple iPad for instance is able to double as a tablet PC and an eBook reader with automatic connections to the Apple iBook store. Plus, unlike other devices the size makes it perfect for comfortable reading in your palm. Of course, the electronic reading capabilities are only the start where the iPad is concerned. Watching movies or television is also great on the iPad as the resolution is perfect and the screen is just about the right size. Hit television shows such as Grey’s Anatomy are know even doing live links via apps to the iPad making it even more cool to toy with.
On the subject of apps, the fact that both iPads and Android tablets have downloadable app stores makes both products much more appealing. While Apple currently dominates the app market, the Android apps are starting to grow in power and it is easy to imagine that given enough time they will be a formidable opponent in the mobile tablet market. With apps for almost everything, there is very little you cannot do on a tablet PC and plenty of things you certainly would not be able to do on a full sized laptop (such as play angry birds via the touch screen sensors for hours on end).
Finally, if this is not enough reason to consider purchasing a tablet PC, both models also have a wide range of blogs, magazines, and newspapers that you can subscribe to allowing you to stay current regardless of where you are at all times. This in itself is a bonus perk given the fact that the online subscriptions are much cheaper than their print counterparts.
Outside of all of these facts, both the iPad and the Android tablets come with stellar specifications boosting some of the best technology in action in today’s electronic world. In fact, you may be surprised to learn that the newer models are even going as far to incorporate intelligent chips that may make credit card use obsolete in the near future making the tiny laptop replacements even more powerful and practical.
